Algonquin Radio Observatory is the official ground station for the forthcoming
Northern Light mission to Mars. Northern Light is a small robotic lander
system which will survey the Martian environment in order to prepare for
future human presence missions.
The Observatory's 46m radio antenna will be utilized to return
signals directly from the surface of Mars. The antenna will also assist
in locating the probe en route to Mars.
