The Algonquin Radio Observatory campus includes the
Observatory House. To the North of the main
observatory site and surrounded by
coniferous forest, the house overlooks Lake Travers. The house has provided a comfortable environment for astronomers, scientists,
students and Observatory personnel to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty of the
park when not on duty. Now, for the first time since the Observatory was
commissioned in 1965, the house is open
to visitors. With fourteen rooms, dining and recreational
activities, the Observatory House provides a tranquil location
for your holiday or retreat in the Park with an added astronomical twist.
